January 12, 2010
Dyl has been off the breathing machine since yesterday at 12:30 pm, he is doing GREAT! the dr plans to leave him off for good now. he wears a trach collar which provides humidified air to his lungs. the air has a slight amount of oxygen right now, it is almost to what he would normally have, the dr plans to wean him down on the oxygen slowly. His blood gases were showing normal so they have no plans to put him back on the machine. He is due to have his trach changed for the 1st time today. It has been 1 week since he got the surgery. He continues to open his eyes for long spans of time (45 mins) :) His p.t. is going great and he is resting very well. Last night he was snoring, so we know he's getting some much needed rest!
