January 17, 2010
The last few days have been very eventful for Dyl. He has been keeping his eyes open for more than 40 minutes at a time, several times a day! His trach got changed today, he's doing very well with that too. His sugars are all leveled out, the new long-acting insulin seems to be working very well. He is waking up at times just by one of us touching his legs/arms or when he gets moved. The Dr. said that by the end of next week/beginning of the following week the trach will be blocked/removed to try breathing w/o it! We are looking at getting an insulin pump for him too, that will help regulate his sugars much easier. He is able to track movement with his eyes very well! Please keep Dyl in your thoughts & prayers. - Keri
